WHAT ARE SOME DIFFERENT TEACHING METHODS WITH AI ?

If you define Artificial Intelligence as a program that can figure out things for itself [and] (…) that can reprogram itself [Jim Sterne], Artificial Intelligence does not yet exist. However, there are websites like Khan Academy or Vocabulary.com that have a great impact on education. Those have similarities to Artificial Intelligence because they were also programmed by experts and received a large amount of information and knowledge from the programmer.

Khan Academy is very popular in the USA. It makes learning for students more fun as they can earn points for right answers. Teachers can assign work to their students and can receive a feedback on how well the students did. Vocabulary.com is a website that allows students to learn keywords and their definitions. Via this website, the students are able to study for themselves without the help of their teachers. This is of course very practical for the teachers as they can let the students work independently while they are checking exams, for example.

In addition, AIs can specialize on each and every single student and are able to figure out missing gaps that the teachers might have forgotten to mention. Both teachers and students can see the students´ grades, progress and maybe period of time the students have been working on projects. AIs can help students by recommending links to other useful websites and books, or giving them additional material to help them understand.

Richard H. Shinn from AI-Brain explains that his startup is trying to make students think more creatively with the help of AI. He also says that we need to build self-confidence since it is sort of the mental attitude with which you can do anything you want. Mr. Shinn believes that every human being has their own hidden talent, and when they work with AIs, AIs specialize on each student. Together, they can then discover hidden talents and build your own specialty or unique competency to a great success.

To answer our research question, Artificial Intelligence can make education for young students more effective. It might be more fun to work with AIs, and the students can be more creative. Furthermore, the students cannot be distracted and no student will be left behind in the lesson or ignored because AIs will focus on each student individually. Students can build up responsibility this way as well.
